"SHINKIRO NAIKAKU" - "THE MIRAGE CABINET"
                                   or
                     THE LOVELY NANGO PRIME MINISTER

Nango News Service, 7 April 2000

In Japanese, every kanji (written Chinese symbol) can be read out
loud in at least two ways (sometimes six or more). The kanji for the
name of the new Prime Minister, "Mori Yoshiro", can also be read
"shinkiro", which means, literally, "mirage". Since much expert wisdom
has it that the current cabinet is simply an interim placeholder until
the next election, it is being referred to as the "mirage cabinet" -
even by people who only mean to say "the Mori Yoshiro cabinet".

  Heh, heh, heh.

Now, who is this "mirage" Prime Minister, anyway? Hold onto your
hats, because he is none other than the Diet (Japanese national
parliament) representative for the district that includes - you guessed
it - Lovely Nango!
Can you say,
MORE ON MORI (read that out loud, fast) MORI VS. HAIDER
